Back in August, we wrote about the retail trend forecast that plaid would be a must-have for fall. We were skeptical, but new wallpaper designs, carpet tiles, and other home goods have proven to us that plaid is definitely here to stay... at least for now. While we remain unsure about the prospect of an all-plaid living room, we do think...
... that plaid throw pillows are a cute, not-too-overwhelming way to bring a little tartan into the mix. We especially like the way that colorful, saturated plaid pillows look, whether layered on top of one another or used as an accent against a bright chair. These pictures confirm what I already knew: I am not a plaid person. And my house is not a plaid house, either.

I only like plaid in very contemporary homes with space and lines that, say, pillows pick up on. In a crafts-riddled grandma palace.... ick. Cherubs, unicorns, lacey.... not for me.

@tiger. I collect unicorns (a guilty obsession since the age of 6) and I would still not allow plaid into my house. No no no no no.
Two exception. 1. Greyscale plaid pillows in a white modern house on a crisp white chair with black lacquer armrests. 2. As lining for a dog bed.

Could not agree more that plaid is a HUGE trend (I've now done two entirely plaid entries!)
