New! Marcel Wanders Holiday 2009 for Target

Just hitting our email inbox today, photos of some festive new items from design superhero Marcel Wanders that will be available exclusively at Target. The line utilizes some classic interior design motifs...

...such as vases and pillar candles that look like turned table legs or banisters and highly decorative wallpaper-esque patterns on ornaments, stockings and even a teddy bear.

It's a classic look done in classic holiday colors but with a slight "design-y" humorous twist - not surprising, due to the involvement of Wanders. Take a peek and let us know what you think of the collection...

Shown above, left to right:

1. Bell wreath (($24.99)
2. Vase in white or silver ($29.99)
3. Ornament selection ($7.99 each)
4. Candles ($14.99 - 19.99)
5. Stocking ($14.99) and bear ($19.99)

Items will arrive in Target stores and online at the end of October.

totally agree with abigailm's comment. this collection probably took someone five whole minutes to design.

Bear is marginally cute, but it looks like a pig. Not exciting.

wait... this is a 'collection?'

It's not bad, but it seems a little lacking in panache or style. I like the bell wreath, but it's not something I haven't seen before...

Marcel Wanders is one of my faves, but there's nothing here I'd want...

Yawn. The only thing that caught my eye was the red candle.

I like the ornaments, however the Christmas stocking and bear are ghastly.

I could be marginally interested in the candles, but overall so disappointing.

I like the ornaments but I picked up a ton of clearance ornaments at Target after last year's holidays so I don't need more. I also like those small silver candles. The rest- meh. I see stuff like the vases and the jingle bell wreath in every store every year.

A little tacky, though I guess most holiday-related items are.
