Polka Dot Pillows

010809creweldots.jpgThe flood of 2009 catalogs coming our way this week had us flipping through pages, but also reminded that we have little desire (or means) to buy new stuff. One thing we loved dearly, however, is the crewel-stitched polka dot pillows for $49 each from Pottery Barn (above). Doing polka dots at home can be a challenge, but mixed carefully with florals or other patterns really says "fresh start" or "spring will come."

To get a less stylized but equally as lively room with polka dot accents, we found some great spotted print fabrics through Repro Depot so you don't have to spend $49 a pop (just a little time):

i chose my living room colors a couple months ago (chocolate, white, and accents of yellow, and shades of aqua- based on my favorite thomas paul parasols fabric- which i scored 4 pillows in for only $60!) before the color yellow/mimosa was predicted to be huge in 2009... so now its kinda nice to find yellow everywhere (cb2 and potterybarn catalog so far)- it will be easy to find things in that color... i love yellow bits here and there... its such a happy color. just hope it doesnt get too overused!

i want that yellow polkadot fabric!
