Shanghai Tang Goodies

2007-03-02-tea.jpg
Shanghai Tang is one of our favorite shops. We have a thing for Chinoiserie in all it's forms, but something about the modern take that Shanghai Tang brings to the items makes them extra enticing.

Years ago, we bought an amazing orange and red tray at Shanghai Tang in NYC. It was expensive, bulky to carry around all day and a pain to fit into our bag to fly home, but we loved it. We still do. We see it every day in our kitchen and love it just as much as when we first saw it.

We recently came across two more items on their site that we would be happy to admire in our home long term. A tea jar (above) and lacquer jewelry box (below).

2007-03-02-jewelry.jpg The tea jar ($155.) is called "New Deco" and is made from bone china. The colorful bubbly pop pattern looks fantastic on the classic cylindrical shape.

The jewelry box ($155.) is made from lacquered wood and is lined with a double fish patterned silk jacquard. It closes with a very glam double happiness latch. A perfect spot for treasures.

I love that tea jar. I feel like I keep seeing these around. Does anyone know a good online source for a variety of tea jars like this. Or are they called ginger jars?

- Thanks
