This little German smoke house, or raucherhauschen is made of solid beech and meant for incense lovers. Much like the flow of a real house, air comes in the front door and smoke escapes through the chimney...

Available at the MCA shop for $38.50. We don't always love incense, but we love this little raucherhauschen!
I'm not a big incense fan (ever since I graduated from college). But I love the little German smokers. The little wood figures of different people that take a natural incense cone. I have a chef whose stove smokes. The Christkindlmarket in Chicago has a whole bunch. You can also find them in Lincoln Square.

while there may be charming elements of this incense burner, there are also slightly (to say the least) off-putting connotations of a german smoke house emiting real smoke.

Wow- I grew up in a house where one of these was ALWAYS lit around the holidays. Thanks for RUINING a wonderful Christmas memory, Debbie Downer Civita.
