Sneak Preview: Dror for Target Limited Edition Homegoods

Dror Benshetrit has designed a collection of very affordable, interestingly designed homegoods that will launch at Target later this month and will only be available for a limited time. Bedding, furniture, lighting, stationary, home office supplies and a great looking wall clock (for $24.99!) make up the collection. Here are our favorites (along with their launch dates and prices):

From the look book: Internationally renowned designer Dror Benshetrit creates versatile objects that allow you to live large, even in the tiniest of spaces. His simple, modern products require little or no tools for easy assembly. And best of all, Dror's collection is offered at an ingeniously minimalist price tag.

thanks for the heads up. Unlike Dwell Studio, I am actually impressed with this affordable designer line.

Hmmmm, the side table and clock indeed are most interesting...

Loving that side table. I wonder if there will be a corresponding coffee table.

I'm in love with that bookcase but I'm a teensy bit worried about the cats and their general treatment of such things. Do you guys happen to know how stable it is? And if/how the stacked pieces attach to each other?

Great pieces. I only hope that this launch is better executed and stocked than the Orla Keilly.

Yes, after the Orla Keilly debacle, I'm not falling for Target's limited edition collections anymore. I'm done, Target.

Same for me jooly. I am still jaded about the never to be found "but it's in stock at the such-and-such store" Orla Keilly serving tray.

Target, if you're listening, please limit the number of limited-edition items someone can purchase at one time. This might -- might -- prevent them from being cleaned out the first morning by a few eBay sharks... or at least make the sharks work harder. And! Make all items available online, with the same purchasing restrictions. Because if Dror Benshetrit goes the way of the John Derian and Orla Kiely lines? Dudes. You are dead to me. DEAD.

The Orla Kiely debacle was out of control. They canceled my order after asking me to update my order 3,000 times. Seriously, this stuff is great but I can't handle the disappointment and effort to deal with them.

Odd, I had no problem finding the Orla Kiely items at several Target stores, even weeks after they hit stores. Not every item featured on the website was there, but still a good selection.

I'm loving those two-look pillows. Fantastic.
And those desk supples are sweet as well!

Dude... the clock is lame. Who needs a clock that 'folds up'? Are you traveling with your wall clock? If you really want one pick up some paint stirrers at ACE and with some stain, a clock kit, and a drill ur set.

The bookcase is rad though. But it's probably just veneer and not sturdy.

P.S. Mass production makes things cheap because you can outsource your labor and materials which lets you off the 'living wages' hook so you can sell stuff to people who aren't making 'living wages' here either. That video kinda killed it for me.

Well i guess mid-century inspired furniture is on its way out. You know once a fashion hits Target, it's on death row. What's the next thing?

I already saw the pillows as well as some bedding in Target (Portland, OR) this past Friday, which is earlier than the said launch dates. Didn't spot the side table that I wanted to see yet though... just a heads up!!

Caltnorman,

For some of us, mid century isn't some sort of adherence to the whims of fad. It's a duty.

i got an identically designed clock at ikea a few years ago. yeah, it is plastic but i love it. bright blue star on the wall. i like the wood version, but he didn't create the design.

I really love those pillows... but our Target is so lame! They don't get in many pieces and when they do, you better be there! We only have one close to us! So I don't know if it's worth camping out there everyday just to hunt them down. Thanks for posting though. I do like the bookcase too.

I thought the clock was going to unfold/fold itself up on a 12 hour cycle. How cool would that be? I don't see the point of doing it yourself. Still pretty nice-looking, though.

It is funny about supply and demand. My backwoods texas target has Orla Kiely on clearance, some is 75% off. I just got the table cloth for $4.94. They also had lots of mixing bowls, cups and mugs. People here don't have a clue. I bet this new stuff will be on clearance too.

Cometz, IKEA didn't create the design either.
Study up!

I agree. Target is crappy construction. I would rather DIY some of these products.
Bookcases are important structures and I don't think it's a good idea to buy them at Target. Maybe disposable furniture for a dormroom or something.
Dishes, silverware, linens, etc are all OK and at least have a longer lifespan than crappy offgassing particle board furniture. That's what IKEA is for.

Another look at a Portland, OR Target today, and they had everything in the top row plus a few more items. the bookshelf and side table were flat-packed so I couldn't check out how good the quality is. I'm really tempted to buy the side table though....

I'm so disappointed! I just went to Target to get the clock and it is the cheapest, crappiest looking plastic in person. I mean, for the price, it's not like I expected solid wood, but this was the flimsiest, ugliest plastic fake wood. Urgh. The price is way too high for what it is.

I just bought the clock an hour ago- I don't follow their design launches, or whatever, just really liked it when I was in the store and splurged (even though it is cheap crap....still I went for it) and I can not figure out how to get it out of the package!
I'm serious! I have to get a screwdriver to unscrew it from its box? There are no instructions....the packaging is better quality than the clock---this is not a snarky comment! It actually is! Awfully nice hardware on that box, and plastic clock within.

Plus, the fold-y cool thing is pretty useless once its on the wall. I don't understand why that might be an allure. Right now, it seems to be a hindrance. I just want to get the darn thing out of the box without wrecking the box in the increasingly likely event I want to return it.
