If you liked Grand Street Gardens, then you HAVE to get on down to "City Escape" --

I went there on a whim yesterday, mainly as part of a continuing effort to check out "in-the-city" garden centers that aren't Gethsemane or Home Depot.
What I saw inside blew me away -- an immense collection of plant-related decorative accesories, many quite modern, with an amazing array of colors and styles. Not cheap, by any means, but if you're look for a vase or planter or a bench or a fountain with a high-style "wow" factor, I would give this place a go. Also, just a lovely and friendly store with a good selection of plants. It's right on Lake Street (in an "up and coming" area) so you can even get there easily via the El.
