Pretty even without a plant. Sprout Home, Chicago's excellent resource for good stuff for both outdoors and in, sells this Plant Orb which is handmade by Perch! in Brooklyn. It's a timeless good looking shape. 8" diameter ceramic pot, $104.

Impossible to go wrong gift: a bright glossy orange cube with a plant in it. Instant happiness. XS, Small and Medium, from $10.50 - 39.40.

These Turquoise Gloss Chi planters have a rice bowl shape that is pleasing (and makes us a little hungry). The color is really great - nice with neutrals or brights inside and an out of the ordinary choice for the outdoors. Small, Medium and Large, from $19.75 to 56.

All the green without the mowing, a porcelain Field of Grass planter. It has photo images of blades of grass printed all over the exterior, making the pot as lively looking at whats growing in it. The size is a 4.75" cube, $29.75.

I've been wanting the Plant Orb for a long time. It's so charming! Perch (www.perchdesign.net) has a lot of other awesome products for sale on their website as well.
