Studio Wai

022707studiowailogo.jpgLuke Wong's color contest entry last October was a favorite by many.

022707adambed1.jpg We recently ran into Luke at DWR's Modern + Design + Function exhibition, and spotted his lovely console on display (before we actually realized it was Luke's).

Creating custom furniture pieces for his business, Studio Wai, Luke's Dublin f_console (pictured after the jump) had sleek, clean lines, and amazing corner drawers that wrapped around both the right and left sides of the piece.

From beds to storage units to tables, we found that this new designer's tastes and talents run on the minimal side of things - but always with a small, surprising touch. Going back to Luke's Color Contest entry, we realized that he lives among his work, with his bed and bedside table, and the bathroom remodel as great examples to showcase Studio Wai.

We are late to point out that Studio Wai was featured in the Summer '06 Chicago Home issue. We also learned from a past Daily Candy feature that Luke does it all from his Ravenswood shop (like the cherry platform bed with attached night tables pictured above). Lastly, the bathroom we all came to know well in our contest was featured in a Tribune Home & Garden article.

Seems that Luke has had some well-deserved press, and we're excited to watch Studio Wai grow.

Thanks, Luke!

*sigh* - I'm still wondering who makes that gray color behind the bed. Lovely stuff.
