Chicago Homes in High-Rises

As the birthplace of the skyscraper, Chicago has a lot of high-rises, and a lot of amazing penthouse apartments. Living in the sky offers a few advantages including views of the city and (if you're lucky) Lake Michigan, access to dense neighborhoods and all the amenities they offer, and (if you're really lucky) a balcony or a rooftop garden. They can also have some drawbacks including intense sun exposure and windows that may not open, but for those who love a panoramic view, they can't be beat...

OMG the one with the view from the Chicago Tribune Magazine is amazing!!! The Rooftop garden is also very cool.
Here is the Gold Coast Penthouse with the most amazing view of the city from every corner:

As much as I would love to live in a penthouse apartment,(besides the fact that I will probably never be able to afford one) I am terribly claustrophobic, and could never enter the elevators used to get up that high in the sky under my own free will. Oh well.

This being said, all of these places are very beautiful.

while i LOVE my little house in London (the other one - in Canada), this reminds me of how much i miss my apartment in Ottawa with it's view straight up the Rideau Canal to Parliament Hill and the Gatineaul Hills beyond...

Yep - that one caught my eye. Anyone know the designer of the chairs and the table? The setup is much like my place, and I could do with both...

Anyone know what kind of flat panel television that is? I suspect it may be a frame that's been attached, though I can't tell.

I currently live in a Lincoln Park high rise, although since we're on the 3rd floor we don't have quite the stunnig view our neighbors above do... if our unit were above the 10th floor or so, we'd have sweeping views of the lake and skyline. At least we can enjoy those views from our rooftop sundeck. Personally, I'd much rather have skyline views than lake views if only one were the option -- the twinkle of the city at night and incredible architecture never get old.
