Here on Apartment Therapy, we've been discussing small space living since our inception, but with the current economic downturn it's becoming a more mainstream topic. Yesterday, CNN profiled two people who live in tiny homes for around $15,000...

Bill and Sharon Kastrinos live in California Wine Country, but they paid just $15,000 for their house on wheels. They downsized from 1,800 square feet to just 150 square feet, moving from a $750,000 to one that costs them $15 a year in utilities. The couple now designs tiny Tortoise Shell Homes.

Jay Schafer, owner of the Tumbleweed Tiny House Company, builds homes that range between 100 and 500 square feet and cost between $15,000 and $40,000. To read the full article on CNN.com, click here.

There's another great tiny house company that AT has featured before: Alchemy Architects. The Wee House is my personal favorite in the tiny home world!
