Welsh designer Laura Ashley was known for her traditional, Victorian style, and her family home in Wales is exactly the kind of place you'd expect such a woman to live...
Ashley, who passed away in 1985, grew up in Wales and got her big break when Audrey Hepburn wore one of the designer's scarves in Roman Holiday. These days, the Laura Ashley brand is more well-known for feminine, flowery home decor.
The Ashley family's country house dates back to the 15th Century and is listed as a "Victorian Gentlemen’s residence." The £1.2 million property comes with 9,000 square feet of space including 7 bedrooms, 3 dressing rooms, 4 reception rooms, a 2nd floor bedroom annex, 3.5 acres of gardens, a 13-acre pasture, and 33 acres of woods.

About what I expected - Formal, traditional, pastel rooms with dark woods and twee prints...
...nothing playfull or clever, nothing the least bit untasteful, nothing more modern than a lightswitch - and all rather dull.

I definitely like it
That's the style I like and want people to appreciate.

I don't like this style at all and this house and interior is particularly bad, looks cartoonish in some ways. I do not like what she is about and always make me think of potpourri.

The house is beautiful from the outside, and the interior architecture is great. The interior is very dull, especially the second photo.

The bones of the house are incredible and the architecture---what dreams are made of. One wonders, however, how modern one could furnish it and still reflect the house's tradition.

Of course it's not modern. When she died in 1985, MCM was totally out of favor. The big trend was for antiques and classic chintz because people were sick, sick, sick of plastic and plywood furniture.
The pendulum swings both ways.

The architecture is fantastic and I love the furniture, but the rest I could do without. The textiles and wallpaper have got to go.

No couches. Interesting.
I loved Laura Ashley as a kid so this was fun to look at.
And 1.2mil pounds actually kind of seems like a good price for that home. If only....
