Last Saturday, we attended the One of a Kind show at the Merchandise Mart. Afterwards we did a quick stroll around the neighborhood, popping in at a few shops, including Mecox.
What a great space - crazy high ceilings (with pressed tin) and plenty of light and room to show off the mix of antiques, vintage goods, reproductions and original designs that Mecox carries. There is LOTS of stuff in this shop - it is not about minimalism.
The vibe is ritzy but with a bit of funky-ness. There is a swirl of Traditional overstuffed country house style and Hollywood glamour with a little bit of Modern urban on display here, and it's fun to take it all in.
