2006-09-08-roomboardlogo.pngRoom and Board does not design-down for kids. We think their childrens offerings really share the sensibility of the whole stores' aesthetic.

2006-09-08-jake.JPGThe plywood Little Jake chairs ($49.) and Jill table ($99.) are a good example. Child-size, yes, but the design is consistent with the popular Jake chairs made for the rest of us.

Raising a child in an apartment, there often isn't room to have a full child's table and chair set but it's nice to have a small chair for your kiddie to use at the coffee table for snacks and play. One of these would fit the bill for a kid-size chair that doesn't look out of place in a grown-up room.

The beds look incredibly sturdy and the simplicity of the design is fairly rare when it comes to bedroom furniture designed for kids. It's not girl-y or boy-ish, its just nice simple furniture. The Parsons Mini ($399.)with under bed storage might just be the perfect "big kid" bed.

Other great looks for kid's rooms from Room and Board:
The Eames hang-it-all, the Oscar lamp (made of resin to reduce the chances of a break) and the rockabye rocker.
