2006-08-09-chopping.jpg The Chopping Block is a popular spot for improving your kitchen skills. Classes are offered every day - choose from demonstration style ($35.) or hands-on ($75.). Full class calendars for both locations are on the site.

A staff of 15 (plus occasional guest chefs) lead the willing students to a more fulfilling role in their home kitchen.

The Building Block Series makes a bold (but believable) statement in its description; "By attending these classes, YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO COOK".

The Chopping Block recognizes that having a beverage to enjoy with the fruits of your labor is important, so the resident Wine Goddess offers regular classes as well.

Kitchenware includes merchandise from Staub, Emile Henry, Rosle, All-Clad and Le Creuset. Shop for cookware, kitchen tools and accessories and cookbooks. Gourmet and ethnic cuisine ingredients are also available.

Upcoming events are listed here and include Market Lunches at the Green City and Lincoln Square farmers markets.

Their new facility at the Mart looks spectacular. I've taken classes at the Calphalon Center before but now I am tempted to take a week off from work to do one of their boot camps!
