2006-04-05-merch.jpgThe stately, steeped-in-history Merchandise Mart is a fitting home
to a brand new NYC import, Urban Archeology. When the first Urban Archeology shop opened in Soho in 1978, they salvaged and sold original architectural elements.

While they continued to offer salvaged items (and still do), they were open to change. Over time, due to high customer demand, they began manufacturing new items that feature the historic style and quality craftsmanship of the rescued pieces.

The goods: Tubs and washstands, lighting, plumbing, hardware, furnishings and tile. Old and new, past and present combined - just like the builing it now calls home in Chicago.
