Candy Dish?

candydish-TOPPIC.jpgDoes anyone still use a candy dish? We love the idea behind it -- a sweet little something for guests and family....but can they ever be back in vogue? We'd like to think so, and here are a few candy dishes that are total eye candy. (It's O.K., you can groan.)

The Incline Bowl available at Uncommon Goods, $60, is designed with a slight incline (hence the name) and looks just as good empty as it does full.

Eva Solo's Smiley Bowls, $145, are fun and functional -- and maybe a bit creepy. Is that bowl manically grinning at you?

Don't laugh, but we actually love this Tupperware candy dish, $21. Apparently, it's not being made anymore, but you can still find them on eBay and other resellers.

This 1955 Franciscan Fine Retro Candy Dish, $425.00, is definitely pricier than our other finds but it's gorgeous. A total wish list item.

This vintage find by Mighty Goods, $40, with its unusual shape can certainly be used for more than candy but we think it's best suited for finding a sweet treat under the lid.

The Incline Bowl looks just like CB2's snack bowls, which are only $11-$20.

The Tupperware one is my favorite!
I usually just put my candy in a cereal bowl.
Nothing special.

I think that a candy dish is seen more at work than at the home nowadays.

I guess I must really be out of it. Can't imagine why you would not have candy dishes. Where do you keep your sweet treats for guests?

What is a good candy that works in warmer weather? I stopped filling the candy dish around May so they wouldn't get sticky or melted and guests have complained! My mother actually makes a bee-line for the candy dish and she too asked if candy would be appearing again soon.
I eyed that candy dish up at a tupperware party too, I ended up with a much regretted bowl though. Since when are the tops so hard to close?
