We're in the process of moving into an attic apartment, which presents some interesting design challenges. The far walls, under the skylights, are only a few feet high, so we're putting them to use as storage space. To keep the place from feeling crowded, we're looking for long, low cabinets that will seem to recede into the walls. During our search, we've found that the best solutions have come in the form of media cabinets and low, modern sideboards...

i'm interested in the style of the first one (long, low, glossy white, off the floor...except i want half/some glass doors), so i'm doing ikea's 'besta' in glossy white, glass doors, etc. it seems inexpensive enough...though who knows as to the quality, yup. but under $400 and i'm set.

kdkaboom: i have some besta storage with the glossy "holumbo" fronts & think the quality seems sturdier than any of my other ikea furniture. the fronts are also much easier to keep clean than i expected. i'm even planning to ditch the expedit & get more besta i think.
