West Elm used these stacks of cardboard next to the bed they had on display. The stacks weren't meant to showcase anything, nothing sat upon them, they were merely to create texture and a solid block of color to the eye while you were shopping in the area.
We think this is a great idea for an impromptu side table or room divider; be it in the bedroom, the living room, or a corner of your home office they would work nicely in most any space.
The nature of them allows you to configure them to your own liking. Change the height, thickness of cardboard, number of stacks... even the colors if you wish.
So keep your eyes peeled on your local Craigslist for spare boxes, or partner with a retail establishment to bring home some of their typically throw-away boxes and see what designs you can make! The post office also has boxes meant for shipping that they deliver to your door to free. Just make sure *cough* that you're using them for *cough* mailing things.
