Origami-Inspired Home Decor

One of the smart things about origami is the way it folds something larger into a small, neatly designed package. Furniture and product designers often use lessons from origami to inform the creation of flat-packed items that can be easily shipped and stowed. We've rounded up a few examples, from small DIYable ideas to larger tables and chairs...

These origami pendant lights are sublime; thanks to LED bulbs that give off no heat, these fixtures are now a reality. Good thing the bulbs burn forever because changing one might pose a problem: http://stylenorth.ca/blog/2009/02/art-hotel-come-up-to-my-room/

I bought Blu Dot's real good chair for this exact reason several months ago. My bedroom is asian inspired and I wanted a contemporary piece to add a pop of color. When I saw it I knew it was perfect.
