Escapes month on Apartment Therapy means many things. Not only do we get to fantasize about all the dreamy locations around the world we probably will never venture to, but we get to take note of neat ways to personalize the trips we do get to take. 1) Leather Passport Case that has a rigid texture that aside from looking cool has raised bumps that might help it stay put in your pack, pocket or purse. $65
2) Did your shoes have a rough and tumble time while away on vacation? Pack this shoe bag along with your things and you are sure to make it home without a boot print across the chest of your favorite sweater. $20
3) One of the worst parts about traveling is negotiating the hotel alarm clock. Forgo the headache and pack this one along with you. Never be late... or early again! $28
4) This toothbrush case has a lock on it to prevent your clothes being covered in toothpaste icky-ness and visa-versa. $4
5) The yolk might be on you with this luggage tag, but we promise you won't have a hard time telling which black suitcase if yours! $22
6) You might be seeing spots with this luggage tag, but that's a good thing when you find yourself in a sea of luggage that all looks the same. $17
7) Red Toile Passport Case that makes a striking impression to all those who are willing to put a stamp inside on your way into your destination. $16
8) This Classy Monkey Passport Case is sure to make everyone smile. Besides haven't you always wanted to say you had a monkey in your pocket? $16
9) This 10pk of towels can slide easily into a pocket, tote or bag. They could come in handy for all sorts of spills and messes. At less than 2" in diameter they could be quite the life saver. $13
10) Your luggage is sure to have a hip and arts and crafts vibe (in the good way) sporting these around the airport. $9.50

Forget the alarm clock - use your mobile phone or ipod. Everyone has one or either, or both.
I personally like the Ducti duct tape passport wallet:

Flight 001 is awesome - I always find something I need from them before every trip.
I agree w/ forgetting the alarm clock - Use your cellphone or pre-order room service to deliver breakfast at the time you want to wake up.

Why does your passport need a cover? It already has one.

ditto on the passport cover. yes they are cute, but totally useless. and moreover, in my experience, if you have an american passport then you often get sent through without even having the passport opened and looked at (at least in some European countries), which is faster!

you should throw in your own pillow and blankie since jet blue is now charging $7 for them. i'm sure the airlines are to follow.

Passport covers are rather useless -
- I prefer a passport wallet, which has space for money other ID and credit cards as well, and fits in an inside pocket of a blazer.

I don't understand paying $20 for a shoe bag when any old bag lying around will do.

i made my own shoe bags. cute fabric, stitch like you would a pillow on three sides, fold over the tops to create a "channel" for a pretty piece of ribbon, and boom, done!

Most of these products are total BS.
$65 passport cover? Your passport has a cover!
$20 shoe bag? Use a plastic grocery bag!
$10 for lugage tags? Use a bandanna!
$13 for ten (paper?) towels? Oy.
So, basically this poster's idea for travel accessories is passport cover, luggage tags, clock & toothbrush holder. Revolutionary!
