Roundup: Handmade Cards For Impromptu Occasions

092308-handmadecards8.jpg We remember our mother and grandmother alike keeping a stash of emergency cards. With the advent of email, is this a tradition you carry on? Or do we call it good by simply hitting send with our birthday wishes instead. Click through the jump to see a collection of handmade cards from Etsy that truly have a personal touch, no matter how last minute it might have been signed.

In a world where an email longer than a paragraph seems "personal," it's nice to have cards of handmade nature on hand for any occasion. Receiving "real" mail anymore is like Christmas. Keeping a few in your arsenal will always have you prepared for any event or occasion.

Isn't MN in the midwest. That's all I've heard since I moved here.

i have a basket full of "anytime" cards and challenge myself to send a few each month. i love opening the mailbox to find "real" mail and love that i can so easily give that to someone else. it doesn't cost much, but reminds your loved ones that they are loved.

i do keep a stash, its come in very handy, and not just for myself. i've given them out in pinches to friends who show up to carpool somewhere and forgotten cards, to my boyfriend who forgot (of course) a card for my mother, and lots of other situations.

No one in Kentucky would call herself a midwesterner. It's culturally southern, and we identify as such.
