Plaid is popular. No longer relegated to the nubby brown basement couch, modern plaids are now available in grays, yellows, and pinks. Designers like Marcel Wanders are using plaid on the wall, and organic blankets come in mod plaid patterns. We've rounded up some of our favorite uses for this preppy material below...

I predict this whole plaid thing is going to look fresh (or "Phresh" as the kids say) for a whole whopping one season. Then it will just look weird and dated.

Ugh. Stick with plaid blankets or other textiles if you want to jump into the plaid pool, but upholstery, wall paper and more semi-permanent stuff? No way!
