I just purchased a clock very similar to #1 from a salvage store in Baltimore and am currently trying to convert it to run on a battery instead of being hardwired. Any hints on how to do this would be great.

I've got an IBM factory clock, but it runs on 24V DC (as it was synched to the factory machines). I haven't got around to finding a transformer & doing the wiring to plug it into an outlet. Suppose I could hook it up to a coupla 12V car batterys...
