Small Space Seating Solution: 5 Textural Cubes & Poufs

A cube or pouf can be a very useful addition to a small space sitting area for, well, extra seating, but if you choose one with a bit of offbeat texture it is a design boon as well. We've chosen 5 that are neutral enough in color to fit in with most schemes but pack a wallop when it comes to adding texture to a room...

These range from sheepskin to wool to both padded and quilted leather and end up with a a woven hemp. A few provide the added bonus of hidden storage.

Shown above, left to right:

  • Sheepskin Pouf from West Elm for $349.

  • Wool Storage Cube from West Elm for $229.

  • Silver Metallic Cube from Brocade Home for $199

  • Stow Leather Storage Ottoman from Crate & Barrel for $149.

  • Hemp Pouf from West Elm for $189.

Just adore that sheepskin pouf. My cat would too... but neither of us have $350 to pay for it. Drat.

Is it just me or is west elm getting spendy?

Totally DIYable. I'm in the process of crocheting a fun textured cover for a milk crate to use as a footstool in my living room. Total cost, including foam, yarn, and crate: less than $20.

    Love the Milk Crate Idea!

Also, West Elm is my new favorite enemy. I straight up REFUSE to give them my money.

Last time I was at the West Elm, five (literally five, I counted) salespeople (all male, mind you) walked by me, sized me up, and continued past without asking "can I help you?" even though I was giving my best "please help me" face.

Then, when I had a question about having an out-of-stock color of an item delivered, the manager 1) looked at me like no one had ever asked about that before, 2) rudely said "No" as if I was stupid for asking and 3) basically went out of his way to make the purchase I wanted to make nearly impossible. "No, we can't have it delivered to the store"/ "I don't know what colors are available" / "I don't know of any similar product or alternative that we sell"

It seems as if West Elm does not want my business, which is fine with me: I'll no longer give it to them.

Teacupcake, you should really write a polite note to the West Elm ownership letting them know that the sales people and manager are blowing off potential sales. Believe me, they would rather know this is happening and fix it, than let it go on and lose sales.
