Can't wait for a preview of the John Derian Line that hits Target in September! I saw an ad in Elle Decor!

it looks like there is a new dwell bedding set as well. and, for anyone else who might have been frustrated about the duvet vs. comforter of the original round of dwell bedding, it is actually offered in both duvet AND comforter.

I love that nightstand and I wonder if it's larger enough to serve as a printer stand to go next to my desk. If supplies last long enough to make it to the clearance section, maybe I'll snag one.

NO MORE BLUE AND BROWN!!!

Saying no blue and brown is like saying "No blue and white." Brown - it's used a neutral. Get used to it.

Now that the gigantic Safeway grocery store at Church & Market here in San Francisco is being redone in Organic Modern, can I say that a style I have always hated is very, very tired?

I want that nightstand but every piece of furniture I've ever bought from Target has fallen apart and/or had a dented corner when the box was opened. Grrrr.

I wonder sometimes if we saw things and didn't know who made them whether we'd like them at all. Just a thought.

I have a blue and brown studio apartment. With tons of other colors to break it up, and not "that" blue. And even I agree that its getting very tired because everything looks like a Tiffany box of chocolates. Blah.

I do love the Smith and Hawken doormat.

And I agree, Target things seem to fall apart, at least their furniture items do.

IMO, the headboard needs handcuffs....yeah?

I'm getting a little tired of the turquoise/robin's egg and chocolate combo too. I would have thought we'd have moved on by now. Or maybe it being all over Target is the final gasp?

So, what do you suggest? What's the new color that goes well with brown without looking dreadful?
As most new designs have grey or white instead of brown, rooms with brown furniture and brown parquet started to look too traditional. If you have a classic style, that's fine but I need to find a solution other than painting the furniture white!

I don't understand the complaints about brown and blue. The only item that has both colors present is the nightstand, and only in small accents. The pillows come in blue or brown, not a blue and brown combo.

sheesh.

Target, like Ikea seem to cater to people that are starting out in life. The quality reflects that. These are disposable and trendy and will not look nice in 5 years. Should we buy cute "inexpensive items" and then upgrade later when money permits? Or should we buy fewer more expensive pieces that will last a lifetime? Maybe our taste changes so much from 20 to 40...just a thought.

Target furniture is cheap, but apparently photographs well.

wow, that nightstand is making me so happy! and with that striped headboard...what a fab, cheery boudoir that would make!

if only they'd come up with a tv stand that didn't make me want to vomit.

shoppingsmycardio, I'm not sure what style you have, but I do know that I wanted this from Thomas O'Brien's line for Target:

When I finally needed a new tv stand... it was discontinued. Is this a style of stand though I can easily find somewhere else? I haven't done the NYC flea markets, vintage stores in a loooong time.

I found with TARGET, the pictures are very misleading. The actual products arrive and look cheap. That blue night stand looks good, but when the particle board arrives and the edges don't match up you won't be happy. That night stand can be found at any flea market. Paint it blue and change the hardware.

Do you DIY types think it painting the brown bits on the Dwell nightstands would succeed?

If so, any advice as to "how to" or what type of paint? I was thinking white lacquer, but it occurred to me that trying something that looked like a vintage-y metal might distract the eye from the inevitable imperfections.

I went to look at the nightstands on Target.com and no dice, is AT sure they were going on sale on 8/15?
