From traditional Native American graphics to soft blue and ivory medallion patterns to a bright coral design, these Williams Sonoma crewel rugs (loosely embroidered two-ply wool) combine the great triple threat: color, pattern and texture. At this time of year, our favorite is the Saddle Blanket rug (above), which could warm up a room full of neutrals or with punches of color. Details and more rugs below:

The medallion and coral options look more like wallpaper patterns than rug designs. But I tend to gravitate to traditional rug designs for my own apartment, so maybe it's just me.

According to _Forbes_ magazine, most handmade rugs are made by the hands of children. Ditto for hand-embroidered textiles and painted items. The Williams-Sonoma links don't state where these rugs are made, which suggests that it's not a place with stringent labor laws. Without more information, that makes these creepy, not classy.
