Merchandise Mart showrooms aren't our usual store guide entries, but we were in Odegard last week and just had to add it to AT:Chicago. These carpets were simply so beautiful we want to show them off a little bit here.

Created in the 1980's by Stephanie Odegard, the company has grown to encompass 10 showrooms. Made from natural materials such as wool, hemp and silk, the rugs can be completely customized by size and color choice.

After serving in the Peace Corps and working for the UN and World Bank to assist developing countries with promoting their artisnal crafts, Stephanie launched Odegard. The hand-knotted carpets are made to very high production standards.
