Whether or not you shop for "distressed" tees at Urban Outfitters, every once in a while a peek is worth it for some random deals for your apartment. On sale right now online, we found a couple great items, including these Souper Douper bowls (in mint).
The large ceramic bowls, $14.99, are part of a line that includes smaller Souper bowls as well as these great Squircle plates.
We also spotted this 5' x 7' wool rug on sale for $49.99 (it was $140!). Photo below:
In the past, we've purchased a wool rug from UO that has worn well; it is now in its third year and doing fine. So far that's been our only apartment purchase from UO...anyone else have stories about the quality of any products you've taken home?
You might want to think twice about buying from Urban Outfitters, as they are known to rip-off designs from small independent artists. (And also this story.) Between that, and the fact that the owner of the company donates thousands of dollars to neanderthal Senator Rick Santorum, Urban Outfitters is one store I will never purchase from.
Holy crap! I had no idea that the Urban Outfitters founder was such a Republican. How's that for irony?
despite having known about the founder of UO's political leanings and the like for years, I still buy stuff there when it's onsale. because le's face it, a $5 skirt is a $5 skirt. every business has their issues and it's very difficult to choose which ones are "best" in this day & age.
that aside, i did buy the squircle plates and souper bowls because i was tired of my old dishes and these are in fun colors. the paint/glaze is a little thin around the edges on maybe two of the plates i got, but no major complaints thus far. and they're purtty.
I've had very good experiences with UO. I don't own any major items (couches and the ilk), but all my little purchases like frames and comforters have all held up very well, not to mention the six-year-old jean skirt that hasn't so much as faded.
