Retail is having a tough year, no question, with discounts (both real savings and just hype) being mentioned nearly everywhere we look. During an economic crisis or not, there is a year-in, year-out sales schedule that most retailers follow that says February is a good time to look for discounts and bargains on the following...
...items for the home:
Electronics
Floor Coverings
Furniture
Housewares
and, while not exactly for the home, most homes get a little cheerier if they have some of it around:
Chocolate
Coming up next month, it's time to look for sales on:
Winter Sports Equipment
Luggage
Gardening Supplies

Where are the best floor covering sales? I'd love to get some rugs at a good sale.

Actually I have to agree. I've gotten a ton of emails for sales on electronics that i must have subcribed too at some point while Christmas shopping and one from Decor 8 (my other daily read) this past weekend for a a clearnace sale at Inmod where furniture is up to 85% off!

Guess I can use these as excuses to spend some money right? Any other good ones out there?

It is also a good time to stock up on Champagne. Wine stores pull in a lot of inventory for Valentine's Day and distributors offer discounts on bubbly during this high-volume time of year.
