If you've got any old or new home movies, the annual Chicago Home Movie Day held at the Chicago Cultural Center sounds like great motivation for digging out the best and bringing them to life if they've been stored away. This Saturday, October 18, bring your movies and memories downtown for review and possible screening. We'd love to hear about your favorite home movie below (details for the event below, too):

haha, there is a video my mother took of my little brother crawling around on a large round ottoman playing with some brightly colored childrens toy. He's probably 2 or 3. In the background you see my father sprawled out on the sofa watching television. At one point my brother takes a spill off the ottoman head first, to which you hear a gasp from my mother behind the camera, but nothing else.... she keeps filming while the kid stars to cry. Im assuming she thought that because my father was 3 feet away would react..... well she was wrong, he dosent even blink. so for about a soild 30 seconds, my brother is crying holding his Noggen, my father watches television and my mother tapes my brother crying waiting for my father to do something.... It ends with her screaming his name, to no responce and the camera shuts off! So funny... poor kid :)

there is also a great one of a toddlers birthday party, i think for a cousin of mine.... there are about 60 people crammed in our living room and my father is video taping from the opposite side of the room than most people. At one point you get a gimpse of 8 other people video taping the same think, standing in a tight cluster, ALL yielding HUGE early 80's camcoarders on thier sholders like bazookas!
we joke that it was the original suburban TMZ report!
