Just In: Vintage Chair Auction This Weekend

We just read this in the Open Thread and had to pull it out for everyone to see - looks like there is a big chair sale going on in Madison this weekend...

...at 1021 S. Park Street. According to the listing, the assortment includes: "Modern 50's, 40's aluminum, 30's chrome, Danish Modern, Herman Miller, Knoll, Aalto, Karim Rashid, Piretti, Raymond Loewy, LeCorbusier, Shaw Walker, Paul McCobb, Saarinen, Thonet, Shelby Williams, RoyalChrome, Conant Ball, Robsjohn Gibbings, Edward Wormley, Platner, George Nelson, Gilbert Rohde."

Or you could buy my midcentury modern amoire I have on craigslist NY solid wood by 3k Mobil and completely comes apart. perfect for walk=up apts where you need a huge amoire!!! Delivery possible for $1 per mile after purchase located in Sag Harbor

I went to the chair sale this morning. I have a really small car so I was hoping to find something that would fit in my trunk without any problems.

I saw a rocker that I liked and it folds, so it was perfect! I also saw a few other chairs that I was interested in but they were out of my price range- they were a great price, but just not anything I could afford right now.

So I got the rocker for $10 and it's in some serious need of new canvas (it's a sling style chair) and the wooden arms are pretty dinged up, but I was still happy to take it home!

The owners said they'll be bringing in new chairs as they sell, so I'll definitely be going back!
