Edited to add: Thanks to a savvy AT reader, Crewtag, we were informed that this sale might actually not be much of a sale at all. Please check the comments for the details. Buyer (and blogger!) beware... -janel

The saleslady we spoke with said that the 20% discount would be good through the end of the month, but we would call ahead to check if you are thinking about buying to confirm the sale.

I must inform you that Macy's Kartell sale is not what it seems.
This has happened in their previous Kartell sales. Their regular retail prices for Kartell products are usually 20% higher than ones at DWR or Highbrow Furniture or Barneys so when they have a "sale", it is really not a sale and only brings the price down to what is currently retailing for DWR and the likes... not to mention you have to add the tax.
Unless Macy is a paid advertiser for AT and this is an advertorial, this really shouldn't be posted considering how savvy the readers of AT are and how we are always on the look out for a bargain.
I have 2 Starck Ero chairs and they are not regularly priced $784!!! They are regularly priced at $626 at DWR and highbrow furniture (not a sale price).
A friend of mine unknowingly purchased some Kartell chairs from Macy's at the "sale" price over Christmas. When she discovered how much they are regularly priced at other stores, she took the back to the store and demanded the manager to explain this deceptive pricing...which of course he couldn't answer.... (I am curious how they can get away with this...from a legal standpoint)
Anyway, enough rambling ...the point is its really NOT a sale and don't think you are missing out if you don't buy know during their "sale"... which I am sure many savvy AT readers/shoppers have figured that out.

Thanks, Crewtag for the info.
Macy's is not an advertiser for AT - all our ads are the ones which show up in between the posts, never as the posts or editorial content.
When I was in Macy's on the weekend I was taken with the selection and thought I was passing on a worthwhile sale...I didn't realize how inflated the "regular" Kartell pricing is - that's a bummer.

Get real. It is a percentage off of their regular price. SO IT REALLY IS A SALE. It is the purchaser's responsibility to determine a "best" price.
One of the things you are paying for is the number of different items on the floor. Coming from an area where there is no DWR or even a Macy's carrying Kartell or furniture for that matter, I would be happy to be able to see or try out the item prior to purchase.
