On Sale: Curtains from Pottery Barn

9-25-08pb1.jpg

We've had good experience with Pottery Barn's curtains. (Our most recent living room project involved hanging PB shower curtains on the windows, and they've worked out well.) Right now, Pottery Barn has a large selection of (regular) curtains on sale, in both solid colors and more complex patterns. Click below for a few options...

I have such a hard time paying their prices for curtains when they are to amazingly easy to make.

I have the Peyton drapes (oatmeal) in my living room and dining room and I love them. They're lined, and for this price/quality, it makes them one the best drapery values out there. By comparison, Restoration Hardware's belgian linen drapes are twice the price and unlined.

I also have the silk dupioni pole pocket drapes in my bedroom (clay). These are lined too -- though it's not block-out lining. Again, superior value for the price/quality. Favorite feature on these is that they didn't need ironing or steaming -- there were no fold crease whatsoever when I hung them.

Both are made with nylon "hooks" for clip on rings if you don't like the pole-through-the-pocket look (I don't!). Use the second "hook" to conceal the ring clip.

I use the linen sheers behind both the linen and the silk drapes (ivory). They come in ivory and white on the website, and you can get a honeycomb color in some stores. The quality is great, though you may find better pricing. I opted to pay a little more for the convenience (they were there), and knowing that they matched -- there's a certain benefit to seeing these in store andknowing that pottery barn made them to work with all of their drapes.

The linen sheers do not have the nylon hooks, and I hung these pole-through-the-pocket on double rods.

Last but not least, these double rods are *awesome*!!

we've had TERRIBLE experiences with their shades, very poorly made. The panels look great though.

I had a bad experience with their shades as well. The quality of the fabric wasn't what I expected. I did order some online at www.dreacustomdesigns.com and the price was a little bit cheaper, but the craftsmanship as well as the fabric was 100% impressive. Anybody know where I can get some classy silk shower curtains from?
