“Every time a passerby says - “You know, I know the perfect place to put it!” - RedBall has succeeded in creating a moment of imagination. This is the core of the Project’s goal, not the object itself, but how in relation to a site and in the context of its temporary movements, the passerby can immediately take it on as an imaginative act.”
--Kurt Perschke, Artist
Sponsored by Target, Perschke's RedBall project has hit Chicago this month, with the ball's first stop on September 1 at Millennium Park. We've yet to see or touch the red ball in person, but we might just love the site renderings as much as the idea of the in-person experience itself:

Loooove those sketches. Very nice and whimsical installation.

I remember having something like this when I was a kid.
Or at least the neighbor had one that he blew up every now and then for the kids to play with. It was fun when it went from the back yards to the front and went flying down the street with 20 or so kids running behind it.
Then the ball got deflated and put away! But it sure was fun.
