I purchased the Sultan Fangebo mattress for my guest bedroom last week and got the $25 gift cert. But the checkout girl said that I could only use it for something in the Sultan line. Which is a bummer.

Does anyone have any comments about Ikea beds, or know where I could look up people's opinions about them against other mattresses? It's time to move up to a King for our family-sleeping arrangement and I don't want to get overly ripped off...

In general their mattresses are a good value. Their returns policy struck me as fairly generous - I returned a foam mattress after a few months because of a persistent chemical odor. (I don't blame IKEA for the odor - lots of expensive mattresses suffer from the same problems, based on reviews I've seen on sites like epinions. Apparently some batches of foam develop a chemical that stinks, and it's hard for the manufacturers to prevent it.)
