If you're cleaning house and also trying to lighten the load, the Uptown Chicago Commission and the Chicago Reader are co-hosting a book swap. Details via Gapers Block:
When: Thursday, May 31, 5:30-9 pm

Where: Nick's Uptown, 4015-17 N. Sheridan Rd.

Etc: The first 300 swappers get a free tote bag! Bring and take books, meet fellow readers, win super door prizes...

...enjoy some tasty beer. (Bring and take as many as 15 books, but nothing musty, dirty, torn or in poor condition, and no periodicals, encyclopedias or technical, legal or medical books. Leftover books will be donated to local charities. You must be 21 or older to attend.)
