There’s also SOFA (Sculpture Objects and Functional Art) Chicago, which opens Nov. 1. Its supposed to be a huge venue for high quality (and of course, in many cases, high end) 3-D art. Both U.S. and international galleries will be there. I’ve never been to SOFA but an artist friend who goes every year says she thinks that its one of the best places to see really good art. (I’ll probably get struck by lightning and have to turn in my “nice” Japanese-American girl member card for “bragging” [my mother’s term] about this but this year for the first time I have a sculpture on display there!)
