- Join DWR, in conjunction with the Eames Foundation and Herman Miller for the Home®, as we celebrate their film legacy. We’ll be screening seven films ranging from 1–30 minutes in length. The catch: they requested RSVP by 8/29, but it may be worth checking to see if they'll squeeze in more.

MP3: Kelli Connell, Justin Newhall, Brian Ulrich

In August of 2006 MoCP will release a trio of books by artists from the Midwest Photographers Project (MPP), a rotating archive established in 1982. MPP is a collection of photographs by both prominent and emerging artists from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The Museum utilizes the images in print viewings, exhibitions, and for the first time, publications. MP3 will include the work of three rising stars, Kelli Connell, Justin Newhall, and Brian Ulrich, and will be published by the Aperture Foundation.

Revelation! The Quilts of Marie "Big Mama" Roseman

The quilts and textiles of Marie “Big Mama” Roseman (1898 – 2004) are reflective of the African-American quilt tradition. Using embroidered and appliquéd animals, figures, and symbols applied with a thick yarn, Roseman produced illustrations with fabric and incorporated found materials such as plastic and cloth flowers, lace, and buttons.

James Winn: Botanicus

The reply I got from the DWR Evanston people seemed pretty open-ended. They just advised everyone that seating was limited and to get there early. Should be fun!
