Every piece of used furniture has a story to tell. We only need to sit back and listen.
Darling, isn't it obvious that I deserve to be the centerpiece? Yet people are always trying to pigeonhole me. They stick me in some silly nook or on a side table, like an after-thought. But, darling, I've come to realize that they're just intimidated by my fabulousness. Most people wouldn't know true class if it walked right up and lit their Lucky Strike.
I know that right now you're wondering if I've still got "it." So I've been around the block a few times, so what? I'm a star, baby, and it's insulting that you don't instantly see that. But I won't hold it against you, doll. You've got a nice face.
But you must see that I am exotic and, as I said before, independent. I don't need any ceiling to support me. You will never find me hiding behind some ratty shade. What you see is what you get, Mister. I've got curves, flash, and a whole socket full of moxie.
Oh, and this? It doesn't hurt. It's a long story but I'll sum it up as one late night of hit records, high rollers, and a few too many Manhattans. But don't you worry about that, baby; the manager has assured that this insignificant little flaw will be corrected.
But, honestly, in the end, darling, it isn't really about how good you look; it's about whether they still look at you at all.

That's really creative. Is it the original design, or has someone modified a chandelier?

I think I could get addicted to these 'Imagined Life' stories...very engaging. And what a great find of a lamp to write about! The one phote that gives a hint of the ornate details, is quite a tease. I can imagine being captivated for hours (not in a row!) checking out all the little surprising details and how they work with the light, etc.

Hi boomer-
I'm pretty sure that's the way it was intended to be - a stand-alone lamp, not a chopped up chandelier. Pretty fun, huh?
