This would be a fabulous room. Interestingly, Asian elements were popular in the postwar period especially in the 60s during the Chinese cultural revolution. Fast forward, and the colors and lines still look so fresh! Nice mashup!

Agree, chairs are fab. But the elements seem too disparate for my taste. Of course, I'm sure some talented person could put it together in a manner that would blow me away.

Yes please! What a lovely collection of pieces. Excellent choices for a Hollywood Regency interior. I agree with 50s Pam, there is such a sense of timelessness about these. The cabinet is divine!

i love this post. first the ditzel chairs are one of my favorites, and i've seen them sell for more. more importantly, you've highlighted a great if lesser known designer for the at community; her hanging egg chair, her crib, and her high chair look as fresh as ever 50 years later. most importantly, you've put mid-century modern in a non fetishistic or time capsule context. very smart.

A PAIR of club chairs for $4400 is NOT completely absurd. Ditto that painting.

Ikea, West Elm, and Target have spoiled us for what "real furniture" should actually cost, let alone pritisne vintage pieces with pedigree and provenance.
And ps, these same pieces in NYC would be triple these prices.
