I've not been lucky enough to lounge in either, but the womb just looks very comfortable to me!

I *love* how the womb chair looks, but I've never found it comfortable for reading. Maybe it's good for slouching in, or watching tv, or breastfeeding. Never tried any of those in that chair. But for reading? Forget it.

While I'm big on Sarrinen, the Egg chair is definitely more iconic.

But I'm with the other two, my vote goes for the Eames Lounge Chair.

i've never sat in either, but i'd venture to guess the comfort level depends on the size of the person. for some reason, eames' chairs fit me extremely well (i'm a pretty small person). recently one of my tall friends sat in an LCW and looked SO uncomfortable but this is probably one of the most comfortable chairs for me.

The Womb Chair is soooo very comfortable! I lust after one in bold red wool. Yummm...

Devyn, are you small? Eames dcm/dcw and lcw/lcm are good for me (I'm small) but not the Eames Lounge chair..looking for a good comfy reading chair for small person, in the mid century category.

I have an original early 50's womb chair and ottoman in a teal knoll fabric. It's very comfy, but takes up a good deal of space. It's one of my favorite pieces, but you do have to plan space around it for sure!

I vote for Eames Lounge Chair for all around lounging.

I didn't find the Egg Chair too comfortable for lounging, although it could be ok for some reading. I haven't had the opportunity to sit in the womb chair, but it looks like it would be good for TV watching.

Although it's not so comfortable for marathon lounging sessions, the Eames La Chaise is a real beauty... so sculptural.

Bird lounge by Bertoia gets my vote.

Both are goofy looking - if I had to pick I'd chose the Egg...and not just for its "Dr. Evil" appeal. It fits space much better than the womb which is so WIDE.

oh i've got the bird and the womb- i'd say the womb is more comfy, but the bird rocks a little and thats fun too.

Having owned Arne Jacobsen's egg, and sat in the Womb Chair on several occasions, I would have to say neither. My vote goes for the Barcelona. It is my favorite chair to date by far. Not only ascetically but in comfort.

Nattles, Knoll does make a couple of smaller versions of the Womb chair.
I'm partial to the black frame version with a nubby fabric like a boucle.

To my surprise, the Womb Chair is not as comfortable as I imagined it to be. You cannot adjust angle of how far back or forward you want the chair to tilt. It is angled a little too far back leaving very little back support if you want read, sit up, eat on it, etc.
