Modern Times is a shop featuring 20th century design located in Chicago at 2100 W. Grand.
Yay, Janel. This is one of my favorite parts of AT, when you do the "Collection" of things.
The prices always make me gape, but I love to see how things can work together to make a pleasing whole.

I love that lamp. anyone seen anything similar at an affordable price? (e.g. a month of food, not a month of mortgage!)

I am all for investing in pieces at these prices if they are purchased at auction through reputable houses like Christies or Sotheby's. Surely Modern Furniture is a reputable company and offers every assurance as to the authenticity and history of the furniture they sell. However, being advised at a young age by a well regarded fine arts and furniture collector, it is best to buy furniture at these price points at auction as you are pretty much guaranteed 100% return on your investment and in many cases, can make money with appreciation and or demand for pieces from certain eras or collections.
