OTHER GOOD STUFF

That's not Room and Board shelving, it's the Chicago shelving system from Blu Dot.

The pain it causes me to see that shelving for $300 when I paid $1700 for it is staggering--but at least I didn't have to figure out how to move it. The idea of moving this thing makes me cringe, and this is coming from a woman who once moved a queen sized sleep sofa by herself and smiled about it.
I LOVE this shelving system, especially against my brick wall, so if you're looking for something and have lots of space and books I would definitely recommend it. But--and this is a BIG caveat--be prepared for some serious moving. It weights a ton and assembling and disassembling that thing is an enormous hassle. I had white glove delivery from DWR, and it took them a couple of hours to put it together, and even so they jerked the boxes so that the veneer splintered and bubbled around the poles and they had to replace a couple of them. So like I said, be prepared for a major moving project!

I so love the Chicago shelving unit. Just my luck - I take a day off from viewing AP and it appears in the classifieds. I would have jumped on this offer if I didn't feel I was too late :-(!
