We're not sure if we'd rather sit on a glowing stool or set things on a glowing table. And we're definitely not sure how many homes these polypropylene "toto" cubes would work well in, but we are intrigued nonetheless. Since the cube is such a centerpiece on its own, we think it would work best with very few things around it. Feeling adventurous? If you buy two you'll get a deal, (they're on sale at DWR: 2 for $410, versus $228 for one). The site shows some examples of where these could be used in your home, and we like some suggestions better than others. We lost complete interest seeing it as a side stool next the sofa, but think it really makes sense as a focal piece in an open space or as a night table.
