Ribbon Stool and Island Table by Nendo

2007-05-08-ribbon.jpg

New! from Milan. Nendo has designed the Ribbon stool, produced by Cappellini to be reminiscent of ballet shoe ribbons.

Design details: "The three ribbons are laser-cut from a single layer of steel, and cross at a standard pitch for stability and structural integrity. The high stool has an extra loop, some of which can be used as footrests. The optional cushion affixes to the stool with magnets."

The Island table is also produced by Cappellini.

Design details: "As the water level rises, what seemed to be a solid mass of land reveals itself as a scattered collection of islands. Taking its inspiration from that moment when the seeming land mass becomes two islands, the island table looks like two randomly-placed tables, but is actually one structure. The table can be combined in multiple ways for a variety of “archipelagos”."

Will be available at Luminaire, 301 W. Superior.
