New from the Bouroullec Brothers

Our earlier post on Objectified got us thinking about our love for the Bouroullec Brothers, so we decided to round up some of their new designs via Stylepark. These prototypes originally debuted at the 2008 Milan Furniture Fair and many of them are nearing release or already on the market. Our favorite is the Papyrus for Kartell, a lightweight plastic chair that evokes Philippe Starck's Ghost line with more organic forms. More below...

The polycarbonate Papyrus Chair for Kartell is inspired by vintage forms and produced in a range of translucent colors. No word yet on availability.

The Steelwood Shelf for Magis follows up 2007's Steelwood Chair and is made from the same interlocking system of white steel and light wood.

The Steelwood Table for Magis completes the family. The new additions to the Steelwood line are slated for the market this year.

The Alcove Love Seat for Vitra pairs up with a matching ottoman, while the Alcove Highback compliments the Highback Sofa (2006). These space-age designs enclose the sitter inside the "walls" of the chair. Both the Love Seat and Highback are currently available through Vitra.

Nice work. A few weeks ago I got it in my head that their North Tiles was the perfect solution to my room divider problem. My inability to figure out how and where to buy them gave me an understanding of what Design Within Reach truly means!
