Small Space Solution: Cane Chairs

We've blogged a lot about the benefits of using transparent, low profile, or lightweight furniture in a small space, but if your tastes are more traditional, the classic cane chair is another good bet...

Woven cane allows light to filter through the chair, minimizing the amount of visual space it occupies. Cane chairs are also fairly easy to find at thrift stores. Damaged cane can be rewoven and/or painted for not too much money. This white cane back chair from Spruce Home is a refurbished find.

For another inspiring cane chair makeover, check out Spring Cure member Monika's DIY project. With just a new coat of paint, she transformed a pair of old cane chairs into a centerpiece for her living room.

The Blake Lounge Chair from Crate&Barrel is very handsome, with a Modern/Asian look.

...or if I'd bothered to hit the link - I'd see it was from Wisteria.
