Square Modular Chair by Kubagon

Designed by Jan Jakub Gontarczyk, the Kubagon Modular Square Chair is "an independent geometrical form that can serve many purposes." The joints are made from aluminum hardware, and the seats are removable so that the piece can be configured any way you like: as a bench, as a table, or as a side chair...

The white chair is made from solid hard maple with reclaimed Sri Lanka ebony inlay. The black chair is the reverse: reclaimed Sri Lanka ebony with maple inlay. Modular parts are attached with anodized aluminum hardware that's said to "double the strength" of the joints. Kubagon's prototype debuted at ICFF 2008 and is not yet in mass production.
