10 Sofas Under $1,000 at Chiasso

7-21-08chiasso8.jpg

It can be hard to find a new sofa under $1,000 of decent quality. Even at discount chain stores, prices can top $1,500 for a couch. Chiasso has a few sofas on sale right now with prices dropping down to $600. We picked out ten, all of them under $1,000, five of them convertible sleeper sofas...

Is it just me, or are all of these sofas hideous?

Hideous might be a bit strong, but they're a bit ultra-modern to my taste. Although I admit being intrigued by the Monroe daybed. Seems perfect for a psychiatrist's office or a swank hotel lobby.

Yeah, none of these look very inviting or comfortable. I like stylish sofas, but all of these are very modern and not my taste. I would love to see a post with a variety of styles included since the topic is one i am very interested in.

I have the Monroe and I must admit that it's pretty well made. It also turns into a "fainting couch" when you prop up one side- perfect for reading or gazing at the stars. However, I pity the fool who actually tries to sleep on it; very, very uncomfortable for that.

Odd, I think they look quite inviting - but I'm a sprawling elbow propper.

Chiasso warehouse sale is happening in Chicago this weekend, you can probably pick up one of these couches there on the cheap. The Red Eye also has 10% off coupons.

Dear all,

i am new here, from ger, i agree with the sofas are not being very inviting.

Can i take this oppertunity to ask you if somebody has this sofa from frigerio? http://www.frigeriosalotti.it/imgs/baker2.html

i bought a sectional in fabric cat. lusso, SUEZ, col.22(grey) with both sides meas. 275cm (2x 177 98x98 corner).

Do you like this style, too? Can anyone tell me about quality, etc.? I am asking because i couldnt take opp. to test this sofa, only the orazio model.

Thank you for your time, i appreciate your answers!

BTW, this site is awesome!

Cheers,
Tim

The Daphne sofa is the only one that looks like it might be comfortable. The others look too stiff for me - I like to actually use my couch for curling up.

Chiasso is my favorite store on earth. Any day during which I Chiasso catalog comes is a great day. I've never purchased a single thing -- college budget and all -- but it's exactly my style. Love, love, love Chiasso.
